Sensory Room Transformation

Thanks to a generous donation from the Ashbourne Freemasons, our Sensory Room has undergone a significant transformation! The room has been rewired, decorated, and prepared for new equipment to provide a relaxing and independent space for pupils. Photos of the finished room will be shared soon.

Year 6 Whitehall Visit

Our Year 6 pupils had an enriching trip to the Whitehall Outdoor Learning Centre in October. The activities promoted resilience, teamwork, and courage, fully embodying our school values. Many thanks to Mrs Gorman for organising this memorable experience.

Attendance Focus

In response to new guidance from the Local Authority, we are placing increased emphasis on attendance. A weekly certificate is awarded to the class with the best attendance, with the top class earning extra break time each half term. We encourage families to support this initiative by scheduling appointments outside school hours whenever possible.

Hello Yellow! Mental Health Awareness

We proudly participated in the Hello Yellow campaign by Young Minds to support mental health awareness. Pupils wore yellow, created supportive posters, and engaged in discussions to promote mental well-being. Learn more about this valuable initiative here.

Harvest Festival Thanks

A heartfelt thank you to everyone for the generous donations to our Harvest Festival. Special thanks to Reverend Lisa for her uplifting service, and to the pupils for their wonderful singing at our village church.

Safeguarding is a priority at Kniveton. Mrs Popple is our Designated Safeguarding Lead, with Mrs Gorman as Deputy Lead, ensuring a secure environment for all our pupils.

Open Event Success

In October, we held an Open Evening for prospective families considering joining us in 2025. It was a fantastic opportunity for families to tour the school, meet staff, and experience Kniveton’s welcoming environment.

Bonfire Bites Bonanza!

A huge thank you to the Friends of Kniveton for organising a successful cake sale, and to everyone who donated and supported the event. The pupils enjoyed participating, and it was a wonderful display of community spirit.
