At Kniveton, we are blessed to have a real, living forest within our learning environment. During a typical day learning in our forest, you will hear the birds chirping, the gentle wind rolling across the hills and the splash of wellington boots in search of puddles. Lessons in this environment celebrate our ethos of learning together and building resilience and independence.
The focus is on wellbeing, on nurturing a culture of collaboration and embracing challenge so that we can enable our leaders of tomorrow to blossom in character and confidence. Furthermore, our children learn how to respect and look after our environment and planet.
The educational value gained from these sessions is priceless: what better way to explore seasonal change and to find out about plants and animals in their habitats than being in and amongst the place where it happens.
