At Kniveton, we have some of the lowest student:staff ratios that you will come across in a UK school, with one teacher to every 8 pupils, compared with one teacher for every 22 pupils in other state schools.
Smaller class sizes allows teachers to really make a difference to a child’s learning. Significantly smaller class sizes are proven to improve academic achievement, as teachers are able to spend more time with each child; getting to know their personal strengths, weaknesses and learning styles; and ensuring that their individual needs are met.
More importantly though, these high quality and frequent interactions with children, enable our teachers really get to know our children and their families. We pride ourselves on knowing what motivates and inspires them, and also the best way to support them when they really need it.
